Northgate Ministries International
A ministry based in and around Baguio City, Philippines, that focuses on training and equipping God-fearing leaders. They have been teaching and managing a bible school in which they’ve been guiding pastors who have led, and are leading churches of their own all over the northern Philippines; from the urban cities and towns to the extremely remote villages hidden in the Cordilleran mountains.
One of the most recent projects of their ministry has been the introduction of a girls’ home in Baguio City, where they house underprivileged young women, from the city & rural areas alike, who are at risk for abuse and violence from their communities and even from own their families.
David & Christine Mayyam
David and Christine Mayyam have devoted their lives to ministry. Both registered nurses by profession, they have been actively involved in local & international ministry for more than 20 years.
As well as being one of the founders of Northgate Ministries Int’l (NMI), David is also a long-time worship leader, having led worship for multiple congregations in the past, and is now leading his own at Northgate’s premises in Baguio City. He is currently studying at Asia Pacific Theological Seminary in pursuit of a Masters of Divinity.
David and Christine have three, grown children: Jedidiah, Iah Elijah, and Timothy Robin.
Ashley Pell
Ashley Pell has been serving in the Philippines full-time since 2009 after being active in short-term ministry there for six years. The Lord has given her a deep love and passion for the Filipino people, which has translated into all the work she has done overseas. She is a graduate of the FIRE School of Ministry with a BA in Practical Ministry. In 2014, she received a Masters in Intercultural Studies from the Asia Pacific Theological Seminary in Baguio City, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity from the said school.
She is sent as a missionary by Helping Hands, Inc. of Charlotte, North Carolina, and her home church, The Refuge of Concord, North Carolina.
Roderick & Cheryl Domingo
Pastors of Blessed Eternal Hope Church (BEHC) located in the city of Tabuk, in the province of Kalinga. They are continuing the fruitful legacy of Bishop Robin Mayyam, who had, in his fifty years of being a pastor, founded several churches in the area including the BEHC. After transitioning to glory in 2021, Bishop Robin passed on his tutelage of BEHC to Pastor Roderick, who has faithfully transformed it into a thriving church that is reaching out into various, untouched communities in the city.
Cheryl, a registered social worker, is the co-founder and administrator of a groundbreaking, new girls’ shelter, aiming to protect young women from violence & hate. The shelter is the first of its kind in the province, and is already making a huge impact in the rehabilitation of the many victims under its care.
Chris & Cathy Mapes
Chris and Cathy are true trailblazers in tribal and village ministry. They have immersed themselves in reaching into the communities around them and have been making impacts in raising up the next generation of leaders especially among the Butbut Tribe in Kalinga. Chris is a missionary from Kentucky, USA who came to the Philippines in the 1990’s reaching out into the slum areas of the country’s capital city, Manila. He married Cathy and together they started the ministry to the tribes in the northern Philippines.
Today, they head and coordinate the International School of Ministry (ISOM) in the region and is involved in the training and equipping of many church leaders and pastors in the area. Chris is also currently pursuing graduate studies at the Asia Pacific Theological Seminary.
Alvius & Marcy Cordero
Pastors of the El Gibbor Ministry located in the Northern province of Kalinga. Ptr. Alvius, in addition to his pastoral work, is also a active member of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and has been the recipient of various awards for distinguished service as a policeman. He has been pastoring with his wife Marcy in the local community for several years now, and notably, the two have been instrumental in the safe rehabilitation of many former drug dependents ever since the violent, nationwide crackdown on drug users since 2016.
Presently, Pastor Alvius heads the community relations of the PNP in the province and is actively implementing illegal drug prevention programs for the local youth.
Manuel & Olivia Paras-e
Pastor Manuel Paras-e has been a pastor for over thirty years in the remote mountains of the Cordillera Region, in the Philippines. He has pastored several churches that are still thriving today including outreach ministry works to some of the most inaccessible places in the region. Pastor Manuel is no stranger to taking a day walk, and/or spending the night sleeping under a bush, to reach the most far-flung, rural villages and share the gospel. He is a hardcore evangelist and still makes trips to the mountain villages whenever he is needed.
Now in his senior years, he co-pastors the Northgate Ministries Int’l. church in Baguio city.
Nestor Anggowos
Pastor Nestor serves as the interim pastor of the Nabuangan House of Worship, the only church in a rural population area consisting of over one-hundred families. He took over after the recent passing of the longtime pastor of the church, Rev. Victor Cadalig.
Pastor Nestor has been doing the Lord’s work for over twenty years and has pastored several churches in the past, before accepting the position to take care of the church in Nabuangan.
