Peter is an ordained reverend minister of the Church. He holds a Doctorate Degree and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Strategic Leadership from Regent University’s School of Business and Leadership, Virginia, USA where he and Kenton met. He holds a Master Science Degree in Management and Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration both from Warner Pacific University.

Peter holds a teaching certificate from the Presbyterian College of Education in Ghana, and a Diploma in Public Administration from the University of Ghana Business School. He is the founder and president of the Naa Amerley Palm Education (NAPE) Foundation. He has over eighteen (18) years of professional work experience including, founding and managing a consulting business and non-profit organization, working within the private and non-profit sector in leadership positions in Ghana and the United States.

He taught at Portland State University’s School of Business in Portland, Oregon in the United States. He acted as director and full-time faculty at the William Ofori-Atta Institute of Integrity at Central University, Miotso, Ghana. Peter is the founder and president of the Palm Institute and NAPE Foundation.

Peter’s calling is to raise ethical and excellent leaders in Africa who would positively impact the socio-economic development trajectory of the African continent through an education that focuses on the liberal arts, critical thinking, careers services (mentoring, coaching, counseling, internships, community services and entrepreneurship) and academic services (academic coaching, academic counseling). Peter believes that combining the business and science disciplines as well as a strong focus on ethical leadership is what Africa needs to tackle the shackles of poverty and corruption.

Peter is married to married to Beth Lynn Okantey. They have three beautiful children: Naa Amerely Niva Aklerh Okantey, Nii Okai Palmer Sampson Okantey, Naa Korkor Adjaney Merida Evelyn Okantey.

Palm Institute

Palm Institute is a private liberal arts University College located in Accra, Ghana. The institute is led primarily by Dr. Peter & Beth Okantey, whose mission is to educate ethical and excellent leaders in Africa. Palm began instruction in September of 2014 with six students, four staff, and six faculty members. Palm Institute is an independent private non-profit University College registered at the Registrar General’s Authority in Ghana.
